Keith Herbert Herzberger

Keith Herbert Herzberger, 82, of Anamosa, formerly of Toddville, died Monday, May 7, 2012, at his home. Celebration of Life: 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 12, 2012, at Toddville Free Methodist Church by Rev. Mark F. Lofquist. Visitation will be from 9:45 a.m. until service time at the church. Inurnment: Dunkard Cemetery in Toddville, with military honors.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Carleta of Anamosa; nine children, Mary Weis of Cedar Rapids, Marlys Shaw of Anamosa, Mindy (Mike) Cornwell of Toddville, David Herzberger of Toddville, Megan (Tom) Updegraff of Toddville, Denton Herzberger of Seattle, Washington, Maureen (Dave) Sweeney of Walker, Molly (Stan) Jordan of Toddville, and Devin (Angie) Herzberger of Toddville; 20 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Michele Herzberger; a brother, Dean Herzberger; and his step-mother, Elsie (Rock) Herzberger.
Keith was born August 30, 1929, the son of Herbert and Teressa (Smothers) Herzberger in Van Horne, Iowa. On February 5, 1949, he married Carleta M. Morning in Cedar Rapids. Keith served with the U.S. Marine Corps during WWII and the Korean War. He worked at Sears as a service technician for 30 years.
Keith was a member of American Legion Post No. 674 of Toddville for over 50 years.
