Keith R. Henderson, 72, of 400 Lindale Dr., Marion, died Sunday, November 16, 2003, in his home from complications of lymphoma. Services: 10:30 a.m. Thursday, November 20, 2003, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Marion, by the Rev. Jonna Jensen. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 - 8 p.m. Wednesday (Nov. 19.) Burial: Mt. Clark Cemetery, Central City.
Survivors include his mother, Winnie Henderson of Central City; three sons, Randy Henderson and wife Judy of Petersburg, Alaska, Dean Henderson of Marion and Tim Henderson of Cedar Rapids; three brothers, Merle Henderson and wife Verla of Coggon, Wally Henderson and wife Donna of Central City and Gerald Henderson and wife Judie of Marion; two sisters, Garnet Henderson and Marilyn Hejda, both of Cedar Rapids; and two grandchildren, Angela and Susan of Petersburg, Alaska.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Keith was born the son of Lloyd and Winnie Burnside Henderson on May 24, 1931, in rural Central City. He attended the Red School, a one-room schoolhouse north of Central City, until the eighth grade. He then graduated from Coggon High School in 1949. Keith married Joanne Jordan in 1955 and they later divorced. He was employed at the State Highway Commission and later, worked as a long-haul truck driver for CRST until his retirement in 1993.
During his retirement, Keith enjoyed traveling to Texas,
Arizona and Florida in his RV. He spent three summers as the volunteer campground host in Petersburg, Alaska.
Keith was a loving father, grandfather and brother. He touched many lives in many different ways. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
