Keith L. Eisher, 79, of 3705 37th Avenue SW, Cedar Rapids, died June 2, 2007, at Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy, Hiawatha, following a long illness. Services: 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 5, 2007, at Zion Lutheran Church, Hiawatha, by the Rev. Dan Krueger. The family will greet friends from 10:00 a.m. until service time on Tuesday at the church. Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids, with military honors. Arrangements by Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include his wife, Eunice; his children, Carla (Jeff) Harder of Manchester, Michael (Jody) Eisher of Smyrna, Tennessee, Bonnie Vroman of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Susan (Jim) Phillips of Tuttle, Oklahoma; ten grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Joan Heck of Guttenberg, Iowa.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and an infant brother.
Keith was born March 8, 1928, the son of John and Zola (Goodman) Eisher, in Guernsey, Iowa. He served with the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. Keith married Eunice Vogt on November 21, 1987, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Keith drove a truck over the road for 33 years, retiring in 1985. He was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church, Fraternal Order Eagles Club and Teamsters Local 238.
Keith enjoyed his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He also enjoyed western movies, driving trucks and all his “Best” girlfriends.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in memory of Keith.
Military honors will be conducted by American Legion Post 5.
