Keith Douglas Comley, 73, of Central City, died Saturday, November 23, 2013, at home. Celebration of Life: 11:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Saturday, November 30, 2013, at United Church of Christ in Central City. Inurnment will be at a later date. Arrangements by Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Central City.
Keith was born August 19, 1940, the son of Glenn and Hazel (McCreary) Comley in Cedar Rapids. He graduated from Central City High School in 1958. On October 30, 1964, he married Lois Marie Lindley at United Church of Christ in Central City. He worked for Iowa Manufacturing for 37 years as a Torch Operator, retiring in 2002. He framed his family farm his entire life until he became blind. His interest in his farm and farming continued until he passed away. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and collecting toy tractors.
Survivors include his wife, Lois; four children, Douglas (Edith) Comley of Ryan, Barbara Moore of Central City, Larry (Diane) Wells of Prairieburg and Steven Wells of Central City; five grandchildren, Bryan, Glenn, Casey, Theresa, and Katherine; a brother, Kenneth of Central City; and a brother-in-law, Norman Lindley of Center Junction.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife’s parents; and brother-in-law, Harold.
