Keith "Moose" Akers

Keith “Moose” Akers, 75, of Cedar Rapids, died Friday, January 24, 2014, at Living Center East, Cedar Rapids. Services: 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 27, 2014, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation, Cedar Rapids Family will greet friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, at the funeral home. Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include two sisters, Cecelia (Victor) Perez of Cedar Rapids and Linda Anderson of Springfield, Missouri; two brothers, Mike Akers of Midway and John (Pat) Akers of Cedar Rapids; good friend, Melvin Kesselring of Cedar Rapids; and his nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Harold; and sister, Roberta Dooley.
Keith was born August 31, 1938, the son of Alfred and Jeannette (Holub) Akers, in Prairieburg, Iowa. He worked for Laborers Local 43 in the construction business. Keith enjoyed karate, camping, playing bingo, country westerns and loved his home.
