Kay Arlene Blinks, 79, of Marion, passed away Wednesday, March 22, 2017, at Unity Point Hospice Unit at St. Luke’s Hospital, Cedar Rapids. Visitation: 4 – 8 p.m. Friday, March 24, 2017, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Marion. Funeral Service: 9:00 a.m. Saturday, March 25, 2017, at the funeral home.
Kay is survived by her children, Barb (Curt Russell) Wilcox, Jeff Benyshek, Laurie (Chuck) Bails, Victoria Benyshek, Dan Benyshek, and Denny (Connie) Benyshek; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; siblings, Margaret Seebeck, Kathleen (Tom) Murray, Leslie Stagg, Mattie Lou (Gordon) Lewis; Donald (Marilyn Busher) Stagg, Carol (Daryl) Neitderhisar, and Wayne (Nancy) Stagg; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; 3 great-grandchildren; and siblings, Elsie, Keith, Bill, Marilyn, Ruth, and Howard.
Kay was born July 6, 1937 in Springdale, Iowa, the daughter of Ray and Lura (Hartsock) Stagg. She was a graduate of Solon High School. Kay worked for Petrick Implement in Mount Vernon and at the FSA Office in Marion for many years. She belonged to three quilt clubs and was an expert quilter. She enjoyed plants, gardening and traveling all over the world with her friend, Jan White and many others. Kay’s life was all about her family, she was the glue that kept the family together. She loved time spent with her family and many many friends.
