KATHY LYNN KESSELRING-BIRD, 57, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, February 5, 2013, surrounded by her family after a sudden illness. SERVICES: 10:30 a.m. Saturday, February 9, 2013, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Conducted by: Rev. Dennis Juhl. Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her children, Jennifer Dunkel, Jeremy (Jessie) Hartman, and Jason (Rachelle) Bird; 11 grandchildren; sister, Tracy (Lee) Bruce; brother, Danny (Stacie) Kesselring; 14 nieces and nephews; former husband, Mike; and close friend, Steve.
She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Sobrina; and sister, Diane Kesselring.
Kathy was born December 14, 1955, the daughter of Gary and Patricia (Ping) Kesselring, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She married Mike Bird and later divorced but remained friends. Kathy loved her cat “Lady”.
A memorial fund has been established in memory of Kathy.
