Kathryn “Kathy” Sue Holub, 67, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, at her home. The family will have a private service at a future date.

Kathy was born on January 4, 1957, in Manchester, Iowa, to John and Joan (Grimm) Stone. She was a graduate of Central City High School and went on to attend Cosmetology School in Iowa City, Iowa. In August of 1977, Kathryn was united in marriage to Kevin J. Holub in Coggon, Iowa. She owned and operated her own hair salon, Kathy’s Studio, in Marion, Iowa, for over 40 years. Kathy enjoyed her profession a great deal and the many friends she made along the way. She loved to sing and play the piano but she most loved spending time with her family. Kathy will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Kathy is survived and lovingly remembered by her husband, Kevin Holub; son, Kyle (Jill) Holub and their son Bohden of Marion, son, Kane (Jodi) Holub and their children, Kolton, Tegan and Emmy of Marion; four sisters, Carol (Doug) Frank of Oviedo, Florida, Karen Stone of Marion, Iowa, Nancy (Roger) Craig of Council Bluffs, Iowa, and Julie Silver of Marion; one brother, Steve (Roxanne) Stone of Central City, Iowa; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Joan Stone; her parent-in-laws, Merle and Jeanne Holub; and brother-in-laws, Tom Silver, Kurt Holub and Mark and his wife Rhonda Holub.

Kathy passed away peacefully at home in the early morning hours of November 26. She entered her eternal home surrounded by people and family she loved.
