Kathleen Panek, 36, of 827 Ellis Blvd. NW, died Thursday, January 9, 2003, in University of Iowa Hospital & Clinics, Iowa City, following a sudden illness. Services: 10:00 a.m. Monday, January 13, 2003, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, where friends may call from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, January 12, 2003. Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her father, Richard of Cedar Rapids; a sister, Kim (Paul) Kaune of Cedar Rapids; two brothers, Frank Panek of Cedar Rapids and Kevin Panek of Chicago, Illinois; her grandmothers, Mary Halley of Chicago, Illinois, and Frances Panek of Franklin Park, Illinois; two nieces Makayla and Jessica; and two nephews, Macormick and Andrew.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Patricia; her grandfathers, Grandpa Halley and Grandpa Panek; and two nephews, Paul Harry III and Mitchell.
Kathleen was born December 6, 1966, the daughter of Richard and Patricia (Mozer) Panek, in Chicago, Illinois. She worked for Goodwill Industries for over 15 years. Kathleen loved biking, bowling, swimming, dancing and popcorn every night at 7:00 p.m. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.
Instead of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in memory of Kathleen.
