Kathleen Francis (O’Kelly) Herrman, 82, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away in her home July 26, 2021. A visitation will be held Tuesday, August 3rd from 5 - 8 p.m. at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home in Cedar Rapids. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, August 4, 2021, at the funeral home at 1 p.m. Entombment will follow at the Linwood Cemetery Mausoleum.
Kathleen was born July 27, 1938, to John and Corrine (Darrow) O’Kelly in Providence, Rhode Island. She was united in marriage to Lonny Herrman June 21, 1961, in Newport, Rhode Island.
Kathleen is survived by her husband, Lonny Herrman of Cedar Rapids; children, Karen (Terry) McClenathan of Cedar Rapids, John Herrman of Wilton, Rose (Kurt) Reed of Shellsburg, Deborah (Dan) Roberts of Davenport, Kathleen (Randy) Swenka of North Liberty; and siblings, William (Janet) O’Kelly of Kingman, Arizona, Liz Silvia of Middletown, Rhode Island, Eva (Tom) Carriero of Massachusetts, John O'Kelly of California and Elaine (Gene) Riley of North Carolina; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Kathleen was preceded in death by her parents, John and Corrine O’Kelly; son Jerry Kevin Herrman; son-in-law, Dan Roberts; sisters, Mary Anne (Charlie) Carriero, Corrine (Bill) Lee; and brothers, Tom O’Kelly, Jimmy O’Kelly.
Kathleen had a love for sewing. She also liked to buy things for her grandkids at Goodwill and spending time with them. Kathleen loved spending every moment with her husband of 60 years. He was her world.
