Kathleen Kay Casey (Kratzer)

Kathleen Kay Casey, 66, of 1045 Westview Drive, Marion, died Thursday, May 22, 2008, at Mercy Medical Center, following a long illness. Funeral Mass: 10:30 a.m. Monday, May 26, 2008, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Marion by Father John Gossman. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Sunday at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion where a parish vigil service will begin at 7:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. Burial: Oak Shade Cemetery, Marion.
Survivors include her husband, Bill of Marion; a daughter, Angie (Lucas) Hawkins of Cedar Rapids; a son, Ken (Karen) Casey of Shellsburg; two sisters, LeeAnna (Jim) Henry of Reno, Nevada and Helen (Dan) Lyness of Ryan; a brother, Pat (Nancy) Kratzer of Cedar Rapids; five grandchildren, Jed, Jamie, Jesse, Jordan, and Brookelyn; three step-grandchildren, Michelle, Mindy, and Scott; and two great-grandchildren, Zane and Ian.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Kathleen was born November 26, 1941, the daughter of LeRoy and Mary (Fuller) Kratzer in Cedar Rapids. On August 16, 1969, she married William Casey in Marion.
Kathleen was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the Iowa Organ Donor Network local support group. She was a longtime volunteer for St. Joseph Catholic School. Bill and Kathy enjoyed traveling in their motor home throughout the United States.
A memorial fund has been established in Kathleen’s memory.
