Kathleen A. Allie, 58, of 3115 Sue Ln. NW, Cedar Rapids, died Wednesday, February 4, 2004, in her home, following a long illness. Services: 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 7, 2004, at St. Jude Catholic Church, by Father Richard Ament and Father Mark Osterhaus. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, February 6, 2004, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, where a vigil wake service will begin at 7:00 p.m. Friends may also call one hour prior to the service at the church. Entombment: Linwood Mausoleum.
Survivors include her husband of 40 years, Tom; her mother, Marge Havens of Boone; her children, Mary (Gus) Ronnenberg, Teresa Allie, Susan Moershel, Janet Allie all of Cedar Rapids; five grandchildren, Amanda, Megan, Andrew and Mark Ronnenberg, and Holly Moershel.
She was preceded in death by her father; and two brothers, Kenneth and James.
Kathleen was born July 8, 1945, the daughter of Kenneth and Marge (Bemis) Havens, in Boone, Iowa. On October 26, 1963, she was united in marriage to Thomas Allie in Boone. Kathy enjoyed learning. She graduated from Sacred Heart High School in Boone, and Boone Junior College and attended ISU. Kathy graduated from the University of Iowa, Mt. Mercy College (twice), DMACC and the Loyola University in New Orleans, where she received her Masters Degree. She taught school at St. Jude?s and then left to start Buttons N Bows Child Care Centers which she operated until her death. Kathy was a counseler at ASAC and built and operated Pineview Residential Care Centers. She then became a realtor and worked for Marian Arens & Associates for several years. Kathy started her own firm Pineview Properties which she also operated until her death. She enjoyed her family, casinos, the ocean and mountains.
