Karla Kay Primrose, 38, of 1345 8th Street NW, Cedar Rapids, died Monday, October 15, 2007, in her home, following a sudden illness. Funeral Mass: 10:00 a.m. Friday, October 19, 2007, St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Cedar Rapids, by the Rev. Steven Rosonke. The family will greet friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, October 18, 2007, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, where a Vigil service will begin at 5:00 p.m. Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids
Survivors include her husband, Rick; her daughter, Maggie at home; her parents, Gene and Marlene Eich of Ankeny, Iowa; a sister, Lisa Weatherwax of Ankeny; her grandmother, Evelyn Schroeder of Carroll, Iowa; a niece, Gabby Weatherwax; her father-in-law, Dennis (Terry) Primrose of Cedar Rapids; her mother-in-law, Karen (Ron) Marek of Batesville, Indiana; and two brothers-in-law, David (Jean Barbian) Primrose and Jeff (Alana) Primrose, all of Cedar Rapids.
Karla was born December 26, 1968, the daughter of Gene and Marlene (Schroeder) Eich in Carroll, Iowa. She graduated from Ankeny High School and the University of Iowa. She was united in marriage to Rick Primrose on October 9, 1999 in Ankeny.
She worked as a licensed social worker and then became a stay-at-home Mom after the birth of her daughter. Karla was a loving, caring person and a devoted wife and mother.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family for her daughter’s college education.
