Karen K. Pearson, 69, of Marion, died Wednesday, March 17, 2010, at Linn Manor Care Center, Marion. Memorial Service: 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 27, 2010, at Ascension Lutheran Church, Marion, by Rev. Linda Livingston.
Survivors include her sons, Trent (Renee) Pearson and Todd Pearson; grandchildren, Brandon and Amber Pearson, Emily, Joseph, and Cooper Pearson; sister, Jolayne (Darrell) Winkie of Decorah; sister-in-law Dianne Kamp of Marion.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and brother, Gary Kamp.
Karen was born March 31, 1940, in Postville, IA, the daughter of Vernon and Margaret (Snitker) Kamp. She married Bernard Pearson November 17, 1962. They were later divorced. Karen worked for Collins Radio for 35 years. She was a charter member of Ascension Lutheran Church, Marion.
Karen was a great sports fan, especially for Iowa Hawkeyes Football and Chicago Cubs Baseball. She enjoyed being outdoors and liked to keep busy with yard work and go on fishing trips. She will be remembered for being a hard worker, and a loving mother and grandmother. Karen was a generous and private person, but will also be remembered for the best sour cream raisin pie you ever tasted!
A memorial fund has been established in Karen’s name.
