K. Jean Parmenter, 66, of Central City, passed away Wednesday, April 14, 2010, at the Dennis & Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha. Services: 10:30 a.m., Saturday, April 17, 2010, at United Church of Christ, Central City, by Rev. Mark Woldruff. The family will greet friends from 4 – 8 p.m. on Friday, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Central City. Burial: Mt. Clark Cemetery, Central City.

Survivors include her husband, Richard; two sons, John (Kris) Parmenter of Anamosa and Jim (Patti) Parmenter of Van Horne; five grandchildren, Shane Parmenter of Cedar Rapids, Shawn and Tyler Parmenter of Anamosa, and Benjamin and Matthew Parmenter of Van Horne; two sisters, JoAnn (Harry) Hoerner of Good Hope, IL, and Linda (Dennis) Farrington of Central City; four brothers, Bob (Gwen) Fuller of Anamosa, Wayne (Laura) Fuller of Coggon, Larry (Ellen) Fuller of Springville and Terry (Dawn) Fuller of Marion; five half-sisters, Waunita (Cliff) Snow of Cary, IL, Lillie (Bill) James of Center Point, Susan Haggerty Doyle of Des Moines, Carol (Mike) McWilliams of Aitkin, MN and Jane (Glen) Howe of Chisholm, MN; two sisters-in-law, Janice Parmenter of Anamosa and Patty (Leon) Snyder of Cedar Rapids; and one brother-in-law, Ronald (Connie) Parmenter of Alliance, OH.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Jean was born February 1, 1944, in Central City, the daughter of Clellan and Nelle (Dudley) Fuller. On November 12, 1965, Jean was united in marriage to Richard Parmenter in Marion. She worked for Rockwell Collins and later at the Central City Post Office, retiring after 13 years. Jean was a member of the United Church of Christ. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandsons. Her world revolved around her family and she loved the visits from her boys. She also enjoyed her Wednesday lunch with the “girls” and her “Survivor” nights with family.

Jean was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend to all who met her. She will be greatly missed.
