Justin Octavius Fielder, 27, of 599 Cobban Ct. SE, Cedar Rapids, died Saturday, November 18, 2006, at the University of Iowa Hospital & Clinics, Iowa City, Iowa. Services: 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 21, 2006, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. The family will greet friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, November 20, 2006, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. Burial: Oakhill Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include his mother, Nancy Blakey Fielder; his father, David (Mary) Fielder; his grandmothers, Bette Blakey and Grace Fielder, all of Cedar Rapids; and many loving aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Andrew Blakey and Henry Fielder.
Justin was born September 5, 1979, the son of David and Nancy (Blakey) Fielder, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He graduated from Washington High School in 1995 and attended Kirkwood College. A customer service associate, Justin enjoyed boxing and played basketball and football at McKinley. He was a member of the Bethel AME Church.
He was loved by everyone, especially his two running partners, Oscar and Champ. Justin will be greatly missed by all who crossed his path.
A memorial fund has been established in memory of Justin, at Collins Community Credit Union.
