Junior L. "Butch? Stade, 61, a resident of Willow Gardens Care Center, died Sunday, December 28, 2003, at St. Luke?s Hospital in Cedar Rapids, following a long illness. Services: 12:00 p.m. (Noon) Friday, January 2, 2004, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion by Rev. Linda Livingston. Friends may call from 10-12 on Friday at the funeral home. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery in Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include JoAnn of Cedar Rapids; his daughter, Gina Brown of Marion; his son, Brent Stade and wife Erna of Marion; his mother, Evelyn Stade of Wilton; his mother-in-law, Lillian Hahn of Marion; a sister, Carolyn Baker and husband Garth of Rolla, Missouri; three grandchildren, Derin, Michelle and Kayla; two step-granddaughters; three step-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father; his brother, VerDean; and a son-in-law, Earl Brown.
Junior was born January 9, 1942, the son of Lorence and Evelyn (Gossman) Stade, in Garnavillo. He graduated from Marion High School in 1960. In 1962, he married JoAnn Hahn in Marion. Junior was a manager at lumber yards in both Marion and Davenport for 20 years. Junior was an avid football fan and loved hunting and fishing. Sunday was always a special day for Butch, set aside for church and family.
He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Butch?s memory to be used for neurological research for Olivoponto Cerebral Ataxia Disease.
