June E. Topinka, 84, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away after a lengthy illness, Tuesday, March 13, 2018, at Rehabilitation Center of Lisbon. Visitation: 10 - 11 a.m. Friday, March 16, 2018, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Graveside Service: 11:30 a.m. Friday, March 16, 2018, at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
June was born January 16, 1934, in Ely, Iowa, the daughter of John and Emma (Peñaz) Topinka. She worked for the U.S. Post Office before she retired in 2002. June enjoyed her co-workers and loved working at the post office. She was a proud member of the American Postal Workers Union. She found peaceful pleasure tending to her flower gardens. June was also fond of her VW Bug which earned her the nickname, “June Bug”.
June is survived by her special friends, Ann Denniston and Linda Edwards.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, John Topinka.
