June E. Poole, 80, of 3102 Harvest Hill Rd. SW, Cedar Rapids, died Sunday, January 15, 2006, at St. Luke?s Hospital, Cedar Rapids, following a long illness. Services: 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, January 18, 2006, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, by the Rev. Randy Scheil and Rev. Robin Tyner of Cedar Hills Evangelical Free Church. The family will greet friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, January 17, 2006, at the funeral home. Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her son, Duane (Mary Ann Green) Poole of Cedar Rapids; a granddaughter, Christina (Steve) Lauterwasser of Cedar Rapids; and three great-grandchildren, Lauren, Nathan and Isaac.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, three brothers, Charles Edwards, Howard Edwards and Raymond Edwards; and a sister, Dolly Schlitcher.
June was born June 23, 1925, the daughter of George and Dorothy (Buss) Edwards, in Albert Lea, Minnesota. On July 3, 1948, she was united in marriage to William Poole, Jr. in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He died September 4, 1993. During World War II, June worked for the Department of the Navy. A bookkeeper, she worked 36 years for the Teamsters Local 238 and 12 years for Collins Radio. June was a member of the Moose Lodge and Teamster?s Retirees.
