June P. Poohl, 65, of 412 5th Avenue SW, Cedar Rapids, died Tuesday, June 29, 2004, at University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics following a long illness. Services: 10:30 a.m., Saturday, July 3, 2004, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service by Rev. Mike Andrews. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m., Friday, July 2, 2004, at the funeral home. Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her children, Arnold Poohl and wife Linda of Central City, Jody Poohl of Marion, Ted Poohl and wife Kathy of Cedar Rapids, and Jack Poohl and wife Tracy of Cedar Rapids; four sisters, Neoma Anderson of Savanna, Illinois, Susie Cain of Atkins, Helen Jacobus of Atkins and Millie Otdoefter of Strawberry Point; a brother, Russell Schueler of Cedar Rapids; 17 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents, three brothers, two sisters, one daughter, two granddaughters; and two sons.
June was born June 23, 1939, in Atkins, the daughter of Nicholas and Sylvia (Grimm) Schueler. She married Jake Poohl on September 23, 1957, in Iowa City, Iowa. He died in 1990. June enjoyed birds, flowers and cooking and babysitting for family and friends. June also enjoyed life with her family and friends and will be greatly missed.
