June LaVonne Edwards, 60, of 2900 First Avenue NE, Cedar Rapids, died of a short bout with cancer, Monday, November 17, 2003, at home. Services: 11:00 a.m., Friday, November 21, 2003, at First Church of the Open Bible, Cedar Rapids by Rev. Charles Stevens. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m., Thursday, November 20, 2003, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her loving husband, Roger; a daughter, Melody Williams; her sons, Christopher Edwards and Michael Edwards, all of Cedar Rapids; six grandchildren; Andrew Sova, Steven Edwards, Nicholas Edwards, Kamille Williams, Rosemary Williams and Elizabeth Edwards; her sisters, Barb Jeffries of Osage, Betty Star of Clear Lake; her brothers, Harley Shaw of Orchard, Howard Shaw of Osage, and Ricky Shaw of Orchard, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Dorothy Davison.
June was born September 13, 1943, in Nora Springs, Iowa, the daughter of Glenn and Norma Hayden Shaw. She married Roger Edwards on December 29, 1963, in Mason City, Iowa. June was a local business owner and she enjoyed international travel, playing cards, the theater and spending time with her family. She will be greatly missed.
A memorial fund has been established for Iowa City Hospice.
