Julie Kay McIntosh, 62, of Marion, Iowa, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, January 11, 2025, at Lake Regional Hospital in Osage Beach, Missouri. In agreement with her wishes, cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, January 18, 2025, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Marion, where a two-hour visitation will begin at 12 p.m.
Julie was born on October 31, 1962, in Dubuque, Iowa, the daughter of Donald and Jo Ellen (Davis) Redenbaugh. On August 10, 1979, Julie was united in marriage to Eugene Francis McIntosh at the Rose Garden in Ellis Park in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Together, they had five children, and she was a homemaker for her family. She also worked at A & W Root Beer in Cedar Rapids for 10 years. Julie was skilled at crocheting, especially hats, and sold her crafts at local craft shows and vendor fairs. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Julie will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Julie is survived and lovingly remembered by her husband of 45 years, Eugene McIntosh of Marion; four daughters, Lisa (James) Blake of Cedar Rapids, Laura (Matt) Strunk of Turlock, California, Jennifer McIntosh of Anamosa, Iowa, and Jody (Matt) Elliott of Anamosa; one son, Matthew (Jessica) McIntosh of Chelsea, Iowa; nine grandchildren, Walter, Olivia, Elizabeth, Isabelle, Alexander, Kylie, Kennedy, Hunter, and Bryce; four siblings, Don (Sandy) Redenbaugh of Ryan, Iowa, Allen (Lorrie) Redenbaugh of Cedar Rapids, Theresa (Frank) Tucker of Brandon, Iowa, and Robert Redenbaugh of Vinton, Iowa; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; mother-in-law, Flora McIntosh; and two beloved dogs, Reese and Makayla.
