Julie Margaret Luense

Julie Margaret "Marge? Luense, 56, of 1030 Lindale Dr., died Saturday, January 28, 2006, in her home of a heart attack. Per Marge?s wishes, her body has been cremated. Memorial Mass: 11 a.m. Tuesday, January 31, 2006, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Marion. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Monday at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion where a vigil service will begin at 6 p.m. Private Inurnment: Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her husband, Steve of Marion; her son, Andrew Luense of Marion and his fiancée Jennifer Pate and her son, Brandon, of Cedar Rapids; her father, Jack Weldon of Cedar Rapids; a sister, Joanne Fickel of Cedar Rapids; a brother-in-law, Jim (Carlene) Luense of St. Ansgar; five nieces and nephews, Corey (James) Cichoski and sons, Josh and Nathaniel of Cedar Rapids, Brian (Stephanie) Fickel of Boise, Idaho, Jamie Fickel of Boise, Idaho, Bret (Molly) Luense and son, Parker of Marion and Kirk Luense of Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Julie.
Marge was born June 20, 1949, the daughter of Jack and Julie (Kopecky) Weldon in Cedar Rapids. She graduated from Regis High School in 1967. Marge attended Kirkwood and became a Certified Professional Secretary. On June 6, 1970, she married Steven E. Luense at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids. Marge worked for Rockwell Collins as a software librarian for many years.
Marge was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She enjoyed collecting dolls, loved animals (especially dogs), shopping and especially loved Christmas and the holidays.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Camp Courageous, Cedar Valley Humane Society or charity of the donor?s choice in Marge?s memory.
