Julie Gillick, 59, or 1501 J Street S.W., Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Wednesday, April 16, 2008, in St. Luke’s Hospital, Cedar Rapids, following a sudden illness. Services: 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 19, 2008, at Redemption Missionary Baptist Church, Cedar Rapids,by the Rev. B.E. Paige. Burial: Linwood Cemetery at a later date.
Survivors include her husband, Donald; a sister, Jolene Siewert of Muscatine; a brother, Robert Ament, Jr.; three nieces; two nephews; and numerous great nieces and nephews.
Julie was preceded in death by her parents.
Julie was born September 6, 1948, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the daughter of Robert and Betty (Hazen) Ament. On July 22, 1972, she was united in marriage to Donald Gillick in Cedar Rapids.
Julie’s joys were riding motorcycles, country western music and country western magazines. She loved her dog, Lady and enjoyed going to the Johnson Avenue Hy-Vee for coffee.
The family wishes to extend a special thanks to her friends and staff at the Abbe Center and to Ilene for all the lunches on Tuesdays.
