Judy Diane Harris, 60, of Center Point, died Saturday, September 18, 2004, at St. Luke?s Hospital following a lengthy illness. Services: 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, September 22, 2004, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Walker, by Rev. Gabriel Anderson. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m., Tuesday, September 21, 2004, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Center Point. Burial: Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery, Walker.
Judy was born February 18, 1944, the daughter of Gerald and Lucille (Wintringer) Shaffer, in Independence, Iowa. On April 23, 1960, she married John Harris in Winthrop. Judy worked as a special education teacher for the Center Point-Urbana school district. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Walker and taught religion classes at St. Mary?s. Judy enjoyed flowers, gardening and spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, John; her children, Rita (Kyle) Milroy of Cartersville, Georgia, Roxanne (Brad) Sauer of Scotch Grove, Iowa, Jackie Toms of Marion, Rick Harris of Coggon, Ron (Jamie) Harris of Marion, Jody (Randy) Winch of Marion, John (Denise) Harris Jr., of Marion, Janet (Manny) Tejada of Center Point and Jeri Harris of Center Point; sixteen grandchildren; two brothers, Gerry (Jan) Shaffer of Independence, Paul Shaffer of Winthrop; two sisters, Nancy (Charlie) Werner of Winthrop and Bonny (Bob) Prucha of Cedar Rapids.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Ralph Scott Shaffer and a sister, Carol Matteson.
