Judith Therese Mick, 69, of Palo, Iowa, died Monday, November 14, 2011, at Dennis & Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy, Hiawatha. Funeral Mass: 10:30 a.m., Friday, November 18, 2011, at St. Jude’s Catholic Church, Cedar Rapids, by Father Jon Seda. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m., Thursday, November 17, 2011, at the Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids and from 9:30 to 10:30 on Friday at the church. Burial: St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her daughters, Therese (James) Elliff of Blairstown and Kristin (Jeff) Hobbs of Cedar Rapids; son, Patrick (Carrie) Mick of Ely; granddaughters, Amanda Elliff, Adrienne Elliff and Tressa Hobbs; sisters, Mary Irwin of Iowa City and Florence (Marvin) Seda of Traer; brother, David (Juanita) Marron of Twin Falls, Idaho; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Judy was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and her sister, Joyce McEnany.
Born March 14, 1942, in Waucoma, Iowa, Judy was the daughter of Harry and Mildred (Flynn) Marron. She graduated from Waucoma High School and then Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in 1963. On September 4, 1965, she was united in marriage to Charles “Bob” Mick in Waucoma, Iowa. She was a nurse at Mercy Hospital, retiring in 2002.
Judy was a member of St. Jude’s Catholic Church and enjoyed gardening, cooking and traveling but most of all she enjoyed time with her family, especially her granddaughters.
