Judith Ann “Judy” Lafler, 68, of Prairieburg, died Monday, June 28, 2010, at her home. Visitation: 4 – 8 p.m., Thursday, July 1, 2010, and Services: 10:30 a.m., Friday, July 2, 2010, by Rev. Bill Harnish, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Central City, Iowa.
Survivors include 3 children, Bill (Deb) Lafler of Anamosa, Doug (Lisa) Lafler of Chicago, Illinois, and Julie Moyer of Prairieburg; 8 grandchildren, Juston, Nick, Brynn, Michael, Brandon, Autumn, Destyni, and Breianna; 2 great-grandchildren, Tristan and Keegan; 2 brothers, David Mooney of Ryan, and Terry Mooney of San Diego, California; 2 sisters, Bonnie Mooney of Delhi and Susan Sloan of Cookeville, Tennessee. Also surviving is her special friend, Jimmy Vanis of Central City.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bill; 1 son, Neil; and 1 brother, John.
Judy was born January 15, 1942, the daughter of William Stanley and Gaynell (Geiger) Mooney, in Dayton, Ohio. She married William John Lafler, Sr. on August 22, 1959, in Camanche, Iowa. He died May 4, 1993. Judy retired from Rockwell Collins, where she worked for many years.
