Juanita Mae "Pinky? Dippel, 71, of 761 8th Street, Marion, died Friday, December 15, 2006, at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids, following a brief illness. Services: 1:00 p.m. Monday, December 18, 2006, at Murdoch Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Marion, by the Rev. Melisa Brecht-Wagner. Friends may call from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Private family inurnment will be held at a later date.
Survivors include her husband Gary Sr.; Gary (Vickie) Dippel Jr. of Marion, Cynthia (Mike) McCullough of Cedar Rapids, Terry Dippel of Cedar Rapids and Larry (Vicki Cech) Dippel of Hiawatha; two brothers, Delbert (MaryAnn) Paulsen of Hiawatha, Kenny Paulsen of California; a half-brother, Jerry Smith of Minnesota; and two sisters, Faye Thornton of Rhodes and Connie Jo Berhow of Buffalo Center.
Also surviving are five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; and her kitty, Angel.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Leonard Paulsen, Jr., who died in infancy.
Juanita was born the daughter of Leonard and Gretchen (Kepley) Paulsen on January 30, 1935, in Mason City. On October 4, 1953, in Belmond, she was united in marriage to Gary L. Dippel Sr. Nita was employed at Rockwell Collins for several years. She was an avid animal lover and supporter of the Humane Society.
Nita enjoyed bowling, working crossword puzzles and collecting salt and pepper shakers and was a fan of country music. She was an avid sports fan of the Chicago Bulls, the Chicago Bears and Iowa Hawkeyes. She enjoyed her family and friends, especially her grandchildren and had a great sense of humor.
