Joyvonne Ann Chapman, 75, of Greeley, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, February 8, 2023, at her home in Greeley. Visitation for Joyvonne will be held, Saturday, February 11, 2023, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Bohnenkamp-Murdoch Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Manchester. Funeral Service will follow at the Funeral Home at 10:30 a.m. with Ray Rardin officiating. The burial will take place at Fairview Cemetery, Earlville. Bohnenkamp-Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Manchester is in charge of arrangements.

Joyvonne was born on March 13, 1947, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the daughter of Floyd and Bernadette (Gunder) Norte. She graduated from West Delaware. Joyvonne married LaVerl Chapman on June 10, 1977, in Anamosa, Iowa. She was employed by the Abbe Center of Community Health for Mental Health as a Certified Medical Assistant, retiring in 2018 and also worked at the Manchester Livestock Auction Café. Joyvonne was an active member of the United Parish Church in Earlville. She enjoyed working on knitting, crochet and sewing projects, reading, attending dances at Western Kings shows (Husband’s band) or square dancing, and music in general especially country western and Elvis. Joyvonne loved spending time with her family and will be missed by all those who knew and loved her.

Joyvonne is survived by her children, Charlie Chapman of Marion, Iowa, Julie (Frank) Thurn of Manchester, Iowa, stepdaughters, Sandy (Rick) Ross and Connie (Rick) Tibbott both from Manchester; grandchildren, Ian Chapman, Jesse Thurn, Beau Thurn, Jake Thurn, Christina Henderson, Jeremy Ross, Bob Wheeland, Pam Tibbott, Jessie Tibbott, and R.C. Tibbott; brothers, Dennis Thibadeau of Dubuque, Iowa, and Richard Thibadeau of Decorah, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Bernadette Norte; husband, Laverl Chapman; stepfather, Lester Thibadeau; brothers, Gene Norte, David Norte, Bill Hartkemeyer and Larry Thibadeau; sister Carol; and several nieces and aunts.
