Joyce Ann Whiting

Joyce Ann Whiting, 72, of, Cedar Rapids, passed away peacefully in her home on Sunday, August 24, 2003. Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday, August 29, 2003, at United Church of Christ, Central City, by the Rev. Jonna Jensen. Friends may call at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Marion, from 4 - 8 p.m. Thursday (Aug. 28) and one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. Burial: North Boulder Cemetery, rural Prairieburg.
Survivors include her husband, Glen; her children, Rebecca S. (Merl) Frazier of Cedar Rapids, Pamela J. "PJ? (Mark) Olson of Cedar Rapids, Nyal D. Whiting of St. Louis, Missouri, and Glenda R. (Scott) Northland of Marion; four grandchildren, Tamanda S. (Joe) Drexler, Lydia N. Olson, Jared M. Olson and Melanie R. Northland; and a great-grandson, Harmon L. Drexler.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Arlo K. Truesdell and Miles L. Truesdell.
Joyce was born the daughter of Irwin Glenn "Tork? Truesdell and Ruby Ursula Smith Truesdell on August 30, 1930, in Prairieburg, Iowa. She was united in marriage to Glen Richard Whiting on March 5, 1949, at the Old Brick Chapel in Iowa City. Joyce enjoyed lunch dates, listening to Delilah, and daily devotionals. Guests in her home were always welcomed, especially her family.
A memorial fund has been established.
