Joyce A. Moser, 63, of 3485 Lilac Lane, died Thursday, September 25, 2003, at St. Luke?s Hospital, from complications of breast cancer. Services: 10:30 a.m. Monday, September 29, 2003, at the First Presbyterian Church in Marion by Rev. Howard Chapman and Rev. Julie Anderson. Friends may call from 2-6 p.m. Sunday at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion and one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her husband, Dale Moser of Marion; a daughter, Dawn Gerlich and husband Bill of Marion; a son, Jay Moser and wife Amber of LeClaire; her mother, Lucille McVey of Marion; two sisters, Patricia Bailey and husband Jim of Zephyrhills, Florida and Gertrude Bader and Kermit Bekke of Cherry Valley, California; and four grandchildren, Jennifer and Kelly Gerlich and Levi and Erin Moser.
She was preceded in death by her father, Maurice Armstrong.
Joyce was born September 2, 1940, the daughter of Maurice and Lucille (Slaymaker) Armstrong in Anamosa. She graduated from Springville High School in 1958. On June 14, 1959, she married Dale L. Moser at the First Presbyterian Church in Springville. For years, Joyce worked part time, including Optometric Associates of Cedar Rapids and was a stay at home mom. She was a forty year member of the First Presbyterian Church in Marion, a twenty year member of Beta Sigma Phi Women?s sorority, the Women?s Tennis League and she enjoyed golfing with her family and friends.
