Joyce graduated from Washington High School in 1958. She married Fredrick Cress on June 8, 1958, in Center Point. Joyce cared for many young children over the years and was always their "Aunt Jo." She was constantly working in her yard and took great pride in its appearance. Joyce was very proud of her grandchildren and spent countless hours spending time with them. She always had a story to tell people about them. Fishing, camping, and winters in Texas filled her days in recent years.
