Joseph Frank Jekerle
June 5, 1920 — January 11, 2004
Joseph "Joe? Frank Jekerle, 83, of 141 33rd Street N.E., currently of Higley Mansion Care Center in Cedar Rapids, died there Sunday, January 11, 2004, following a long illness. Per Joe?s wishes there will be no visitation or services. Arrangements by Murdoch Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Marion.
Surviving are his wife, Arlene, their children, Patricia (Mark) Larson of Naperville, Illinois, John (Kathleen) Jekerle of Long Beach, California, Ann (Bruce) Lewis of Glenwood Springs, Colorado and Kim (Gary) Marton of Fallbrook, California; and a sister-in-law, Bernice Jekerle of Cedar Rapids.
Also surviving are ten grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Angeline Conway and Libbie Thompson and a brother, Frank Jekerle.
Joe was born the son of Frank and Libbie (Machacek) Jekerle on June 5, 1920, in Cedar Rapids. On June 27, 1948, at Cedar Rapids he was united in marriage to Arlene Kiel. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Joe was employed at Rockwell Collins as a senior lab technician for forty-three years.
