Joseph L. Becker, 90, of Independence, Iowa, formerly of Santa Fe, New Mexico, died Friday, February 12, 2010 following a brief illness.
Private inurnment will be in the Calvary Cemetery in rural Ryan, Iowa.
Bohnenkamp-Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Manchester, Iowa, is in charge of the arrangements.
Joe was born August 13, 1919, in Chicago, Illinois. He served in the military during World War II and then was a military contractor in Europe. On April 8, 1967, Joe married Mary Maureen McDonald of Ryan in Santa Fe, New Mexico. The couple moved to Iowa in April of 2006
Joe is survived by a daughter, Ann Becker of Madrid, Spain; two granddaughters; Amelia and Irene Herrero Becker, both of Madrid, Spain; and his brothers- and sisters-in-law, Dorrance & Emogene McDonald of Manchester, Mona & Donald Reilly of Coggon; and Jody & Jerry Doyle of Manchester.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Mary Maureen Becker on September 3, 2007.
