Jordan Rollins, 85, a long time resident of Central City, passed away Saturday, November 12, 2005, at his home. Services: 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, November 16, 2005, at Jordan?s Grove Baptist Church in rural Central City, by the Rev. Steven Russell. Visitation will be from 4:30 - 6:30 p.m. today (Tuesday) at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Central City. Burial: Jordan?s Grove Cemetery, rural Central City.
Surviving is his daughter Marilyn Rollins of Central City.
Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lois; his parents; two sisters, Clarice and Josephine; and a brother, Hamlin.
Jordan was born the son of Leno H. and Julia A. Dunn Rollins on March 19, 1920, in Central City. Jordan served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. On June 24, 1948, at Nashua, Iowa, he was married to Lois V. Platt. She died January 7, 1986. Jordan retired from Rockwell-Collins in Cedar Rapids. He was a member of Jordan?s Grove Baptist Church and Central City American Legion Wapsi Post No. 421, which will provide military honors.
