John Wayne Fox, 64, of Center Point, Iowa, died Saturday, June 23, 2007, in Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids, from a short illness. The family will greet friends from 4 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, June 26, 2007, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Center Point. A private family burial service will be held at the Alice Cemetery, rural Center Point.
Survivors include his wife, Glenys; his sons, Tim and wife, Pattie (Hofmann) Fox of Center Point and Tom and wife, Beth (Morris) Fox of Cedar Rapids; and grandchildren, Cass, Callyn and Sydney Fox.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
John was born February 14, 1943, in Chicago, Illinois. His parents were Dale and Lorrayne (Graves) Fox. He graduated from Oelwein Sacred Heart High School. On April 14, 1967, he married Glenys Kemper in Cedar Rapids. He was a meat cutter at Eagles Food Store, Econofoods and operated his own meat shop in Cedar Rapids for 20 years.
John enjoyed gambling, cards, playing basketball and spending time with friends and family, especially his grandchildren.
Instead of flowers, memorials may be made to Make-A-Wish Foundation in John's memory.
