John Thomas "Little Chick" Tschiggfrie
March 31, 1972 — August 27, 2015
John T. “Little Chick” Tschiggfrie, 43, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away after a lengthy illness Thursday, August 27, 2015, at Crestview Acres, Marion. Services will be held Monday, August 31, 2015, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, visitation from 10-12 p.m. service will start at 12.
Survivors include his father, Michael (Shirlee) Tschiggfrie of Mt. Vernon; mother, Christle Wicks of Cedar Rapids; siblings, Richard (Lynn) Tschiggfrie of Columbus, Ohio, Angela (Jason) Lincoln of Marion, Iowa, and Jeannie McNeal of Cedar Rapids, Dake (Lyna) Dietrich of Fairfax, Cale (LeAnne) Dietrich of Campbellsport, Wisconsin, and Amy (Chris) Jensen of Blair, Nebraska; grandmother, Teresa “Pat” Hall of Cedar Rapids; and his nieces and nephews.
John was preceded in death by his brother, Michael C. Tschiggfrie; grandparents, Floyd and Helen Tschiggfrie and Maynard Hall; and step-father, Larry Wicks.
John was born on March 31, 1972, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, son of Michael F. Tschiggfrie and Christle (Hall) Wicks. He graduated from Kennedy High School in 1990 and attended Coe College where he was a member of the Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity. He worked in management for Hy-Vee, Wal-Mart and Combined Insurance. John was a member of Jaycee’s, Pheasants Forever and the National Guard. John was an outstanding cross country and track runner in high school and college. He loved spending time with family and friends, playing cards, golfing, hunting, fishing and watching the Hawkeyes and Chiefs. John was sadly chosen by a disease and will be dearly missed by family and friends.
