John L. Stourac, 78, of Marion, died Monday, August 12, 2013, at his home. Private family services will be held. Arrangements by Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion.
Survivors include his children, John Stourac of Marion, Debbie (Russ) Gamewell of Baltimore, Maryland, and Sharon (Jeff) Wise of Cedar Rapids; and five grandchildren, Jason, Dan, Josh, Sean, and Nicole.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Janet Finneman; his ex-wife, Doris; and three siblings, Albert, Joseph and Mary.
John was born in 1935, the son of Joseph and Mary (Vanicky) Stourac in Cedar Rapids. He married Doris White in 1953. Together they had four children. The couple later divorced. John worked as a machinist for Kwikway in Marion for many years. He enjoyed the Cubs, golfing, electronic golfing, NASCAR, and crossword puzzles.
