John J. Steinocher, 84, of Rogers, Arkansas, formerly of Marion, died Sunday, March 30, 2003 at his home. There will be a gathering of family and friends for a Rosary and Visitation on Tuesday, April 1, 2003 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Callison-Lough Funeral Chapel in Rogers, Arkansas. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, April 2, 2003 at 11:00 AM at St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church in Rogers with Monsignor Richard Oswald officiating. Visitation will also be held at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion, Iowa, on Friday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM where a rosary will be recited at 7:00 PM. Graveside Services will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, April 5, 2003 at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Cedar Rapids, Iowa with military rites.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy, four sons; Tom Steinocher and his wife Janet of Frisco, Texas, Jim Steinocher of Austin, Texas, Dave Steinocher and his friend Rose Reinhardt of Grass Lake, Michigan, and Rick Steinocher of Euless, Texas; two daughters, Linda Sue Mixson and her husband Carroll of Austin, Texas and Lisa Ann Becker and her husband Terry of Rogers, Arkansas, one brother, Charles Steinocher and his wife Dolly of Coupland, Texas; three sisters, Stella Nelson, Anne Steinocher and Mary Steinocher all of Austin, Texas; two sisters-in-law, Mary Steinocher of Nichols, Iowa and Arline Steinocher of Austin, Texas; and ten grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by three brothers, Frank, Vaclav and Jaroslav Steinocher and his parents.

John was born November 29, 1918 in Moulton, Texas, the son of Vaclav John and Anna Marie Tousek Steinocher. He was a US Army Veteran, having served in WWII. He married Dorothy Longerbeam on August 25, 1947 in Solon, Iowa. John was an Engineering Lab Technician for Rockwell International for 31 years. They moved to the Rogers area in 1984 from Marion, Iowa. He was a member of St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church, and a member of the Knights of Columbus in Marion, Iowa. He enjoyed electronics, working on clocks, gardening and tinkering in his workshop.
