Jack was born on January 22nd, 1935, in Cedar Rapids, to John and Hazel (Espe) Snetzler. He spent his life in this city that he loved. He was married to Carol (Fry) Snetzler for 16 years, and they had two daughters. His lifelong career in the hardware industry began at the age of 15 working for his father at Harper & McIntire in Cedar Rapids. He continued to work as a Salesman and Sales Manager into his late 70s at various companies including F.O.K, Witte Hardware, and finally Orgill, Inc.

Jack was a talented artist who enjoyed sketching, oil painting, and creating decoupage. He frequently vacationed at Lake Okoboji with family and friends, never missing an opportunity to worship the sun. He also was an aficionado of classic cars and trains. Jack spent many a Friday night with a bourbon and soda in hand, at one of Cedar Rapids’ many fine establishments.

He was known among friends and family for his permanent suntan, constant sunglasses, and shiny cars. His optimistic nature and sense of humor will be greatly missed.
