John Mark Slabaugh

John M. Slabaugh, 81, of Marion, formerly of Akron, Ohio, died Sunday, November 28, 2010 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids. Services: 10:30 a.m. Thursday, December 2, 2010 at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 1, 2010 at the funeral home. Additional service will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, December 6, 2010 at Billow Funeral Home in Akron, Ohio. Burial: Greenlawn Cemetery, Akron, Ohio.
Survivors include his wife Anna Lou; children, David (Sue) Slabaugh, Becky (Ivan) Hoath, Miriam (Lloyd) LeCurex, Judith Slabaugh, and Jon (Edith) Slabaugh; 11 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Mary Alice (Paul) Fouts, and Ruth (Richard) Weaver.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Paul.
John was born June 5, 1929, in Mill Run, Pennsylvania, the son of John and Lura (Lauver) Slabaugh. He was a member of the Marion Gospel Hall but traveled extensively preaching the gospel.
