John E. Seegers, 75, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, June 1, 2024, at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics in Iowa City. A celebration of life will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. on Friday, June 7, 2024, in The Legacy Center at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Cedar Rapids.

John was born December 22, 1948, in Waterloo, Iowa, the son of Mervin John and Eldora Rose (Lobeck) Seegers. He graduated from Linn-Mar High School and obtained a business degree from Wartburg College. After working at Anchor Frame & Axle with his father, he opened Seegers Truck and Trailer Repair, also with his father, in 1982. On May 2, 1987, John married Constance "Connie" Marie Hoyle. John was a great lover of animals, and he enjoyed mowing his lawn and fishing. One of John's great pleasures was feeding the wild deer, turkeys, and birds that frequented his property. John will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

John is survived and lovingly remembered by his wife of 37 years, Connie of Cedar Rapids, and his step-children, Kevin Schulte (Stefanie Munsterman) and Kevin's son, Will Schulte, Kristine Spurgeon (Chris Fauchier) and Kristine's daughters, Haley and Taylor Spurgeon, his sister Julie (Patrick) Jones and their children, Kasey (Kassie) Jones, and Sheena Jones, Kasey and Kassie’s children, Kya and Kenna, his longtime friend, Royal Silver, and the employees, friends, and families of Seegers Truck and Trailer Repair.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his infant sister, Jeane Kay Seegers, and his brother, Joel Seegers.
