John M. Lyon

John M. Lyon, 86, of 202 35th St. Dr. S.E.died Friday, January 13, 2006, in Mercy Medical Center after a brief illness. A private, family, graveside service will take place at Linwood Cemetery. Arrangements by Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include two daughters, Mary McLeod and Joni Thornton both of Cedar Rapids; two sons, Alan Lyon of Lexington, NC., and Edwin Keyes of Las Vegas, NV. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife Vivian, his parents Art and Matilda Lyon and his brother Francis.
John, a toolmaker, was a retired employee of Cherry Burrell. He was a perfectionist who was meticulously organized at all times. John will be remembered for his great love for animals and wild life.
