John Ralph Lipcamon, 87, of Cedar Rapids, died Thursday, November 15, 2012, at St. Luke’s Hospital, Cedar Rapids. Services: 2 p.m. Saturday, November 17, 2012, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Cedar Rapids, conducted by Chaplain Deb Black. Family will greet friends from 12:00 p.m. until service time.
Survivors include children, Sharon (John) Wiese of Marion, Nancy (Rick) Rosendahl of Fairfax, Barbara “Barb” Gusta of Cedar Rapids, John D. (Karen) Lipcamon of Cedar Rapids, Marilyn (Steve) Schmitz of Marion and Retta (Bob) Rice of Shellsburg; eleven grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; brother, Dean (Evelyn) Lipcamon of Solon; sister-in-law, Jean of Solon and Norma of Perry, Illinois.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Mary Lipcamon; siblings, Paul Lipcamon, Earl Lipcamon, Mary Ella McGlassen and Jullian Lipcamon.
John was born on September 10, 1925, in Pittsfield, Illinois, son of Arthur and Mary Lipcamon. He worked at the Cedar Rapids Block as a truck driver for 30 years. John served in the United States Navy during World War II.
