John Howard Krukow

John Howard Krukow, 77, of 404 J. Avenue NW, Cedar Rapids, died Wednesday, June 27, 2007, at Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids, following a sudden illness. Graveside service: 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 29, 2007, at Linwood Cemetery, by the Rev. Ed. Powers. Arrangements by Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include his nieces and nephews, David McDowell, Janet (Jack) Minnaert and Scott McDowell, all of Cedar Rapids; two great-nieces; and two great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, George Krukow; a sister, Jean McDowell; and a nephew, Brad McDowell.
John was born May 5, 1930, the son of George and Gladys (Hoff) Krukow in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. A 1948 graduate of Wilson High School, he worked at Wilson Packing/Farmstead, retiring after 43 years of service. John loved to travel especially to Puerto Rico, Virgin Islands and Canada. He also was a Master Gardener.
