John Lee Hromidko, 75, of Center Point, Iowa, passed away Wednesday, August 2, 2023, at St Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Visitation: 4 - 7 p.m. Tuesday, August 8, 2023, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Center Point. Funeral Service: 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 9, 2023, at the funeral home. Burial: Center Point Cemetery, Center Point.

John was born July 27, 1948, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Charles and Julia (Hartl) Hromidko, he graduated from Prairie High School in 1966. John honorably served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam era where he was stationed in South Korea. He was united in marriage to Amy Montgomery on October 27, 1984, in Center Point. He dedicated 33 ½ years to serving Linn County as a Deputy Sheriff with the Linn County Sheriff's Department, retiring in 2003. He was a member of the American Legion and the NRA. He loved to hunt, fish, garden and mow his lawn. John never knew a stranger and enjoyed conversations with all that he met. John will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved him.

Survivors include his wife, Amy Hromidko of Center Point; sons, Kevin (Pam) Hromidko of Coggon and Kurtis Hromidko of Troy Mills; grandchildren, Nolan, Brock, Ethan, Alana, and Marcus Hromidko; mother-in-law, Verlene (Donnie) Hawker; Sister-in-Laws Terri Butterfield of Hiawatha, Jean Ann (David) Walter of Vinton, Beth (Jason) Otto of Center Point, plus many nieces and nephews that spent a lot of time with their Uncle John, and his honorary brothers, Mike and Mark Lala, Jeff and Brad Erger and Mark Whitley.

John was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Julia Hromidko; brother, Dennis Hromidko and sister-in-law Rachel Hromidko; father-in-law, Michael Montgomery; and brother-in-law, Timm Montgomery.
