John Foxen, 68, of Earlville, died on Sunday, December 4, 2005 at Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo, Iowa following a brief illness.

Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 am, Wednesday, December 7. 2005 at St. Joseph?s Catholic Church in Earlville by Rev. Herbert Tegeler. Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday at the Clifton-Murdoch Funeral Home in Earlville where there will be a rosary service at 7:00 p.m. and one hour before services Wednesday at the church. Burial will be in St. Joseph?s Catholic Cemetery, Earlville.

John was born January 18, 1937 in Dyersville, the son of Leo H. and Mary M. (Bockenstedt) Foxen. John attended the Iowa School for the Deaf in Council Bluffs, graduating in 1955. He returned to Earlville to live with his parents and operate his shoe repair shop. John retired in 1980 and moved to the Edgewood Convalescent Home in 2001.

John was a member of St. Joseph?s Catholic Church in Earlville.

John is survived by a sister, Patricia (Charles) Weidman of Waterloo and a sister-in-law, Fran Foxen of Anamosa.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leo & Mary Foxen; and three brothers, Thomas, David and Charles Foxen.
