John "Bud? Weber, 85, of Delhi, Iowa, died Tuesday morning, March 13, 2007, at the Regional Medical Center, Manchester, after a short illness.
A Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 am on Friday, March 16, 2007, at St. John?s Catholic Church, Delhi, Iowa, with Rev. John R. Kremer officiating. Visitation will be from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Thursday at the Clifton-Murdoch Funeral Home, Earlville, with a scripture service at 4:00, and for an hour before the Mass on Friday at the church. Burial will be in the church cemetery with military honors.
Bud was born on March 24, 1921, in Cascade, Iowa, the son of John L. & Elizabeth (Faber) Weber. He attended country school near his home. On December 9, 1942, Bud entered the U.S. Army Air Corps. He service as an airplane mechanic during WWII. Upon his discharge on January 25, 1946, he returned to the Prairieburg area. On May 23, 1950, Bud was united in marriage to Veronica E. Leibold in Praireburg, Iowa. The couple settled in the Monticello area where Bud owned and operated Wood Products Manufacturing. In 1970, he started delivering Winnebagos throughout North America. The couple moved to Delhi in 1973. Bud retired in 1986 and became a salesman of handicapped vehicles.
Bud was a member of St. John?s Catholic Church in Delhi. He enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, playing cards and collecting small models of tractors and cars.
Bud is survived by his wife, Veronica Weber of Delhi; his twelve children, Norma Weber of Cedar Rapids, Joyce (Jim) Nehl of St. Joseph, MO, Nancy Moorehead of Cedar Rapids, Tom Weber of Phoenix, AZ, Sue (Kevin) Kramer of Hopkinton, Cathy (Bob) Aldrich of Langworthy, Roger Weber of Seattle, WA, Paula (John) Hargrafen of Hopkinton, Jayne (Kenny) Kirschbaum of Garner, Wayne Weber of Delhi, John Weber (Crystal Dunlap) of Marion, and Margo (Rick) Bojorquez of Delhi; a son-in-law, Cecil Moorehead of Garner; 21 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; and three sisters-in-law, Clara Weber of Praireburg, Marcella White of Dyersville, and Katie Harms of Anamosa.
Bud was preceded in death by his parents, John L. & Elizabeth Weber; a grandson, Joshua Weber; four brothers, Vernon, Francis, Carl and Lewis Weber; and three sisters, Marion Weber, Vivian Weber and Lillian Kula.
