John D. Buckley, 73, of Coggon, died Saturday, December 3, 2005, at his home, following a short illness. There will be no public services per John?s request. Inurnment will be at a later date at Spring Grove Cemetery. Arrangements by Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Central City.

Survivors include his wife, Florence; five children, Robin Gendy of Sacremento, California, Randa Fowler of Casper, Wyoming, Ronna (Mike) Gibson of Douglas, Wyoming, Debbie Davis of Douglas, Wyoming and David (Judy) Buckley of Cedar Rapids; six step-children, Donaven (Debi) Hiepler of Vinton, Curtis Hiepler of Coggon, Steven Hiepler of Coggon, Darwin (Myra) Hiepler of Buffalo, Wyoming, Susan Glasser of Dubuque and Charlotte Stark of Cedar Rapids; twelve grandchildren; seventeen step-grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and twenty-two step-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Also surviving are two sisters, Mildred Quarstorm of Boone and Donna (Howard) Backus of Scotts Bluff, Nebraska and two brothers, Lawrence (Donna) Buckley of Ankeny and Howard (Ethel) Buckley of New Orleans, Louisiana.

He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers; and two infant children.

John was born November 2, 1932, the son of James and Mary (Tilley) Buckley in Odgen, Iowa. On May 24, 1982, he married Florence ( Grube Hiepler ) in Reno, Nevada. He retired from Rockwell Collins after twenty-eight years as a machinist. After his retirement John and Florence greatly enjoyed going to autions all over and selling items at flea markets in Rutledge, Missouri.
