Joe Mrstik, born July 8, 1932, in Cedar Rapids, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 29th. He leaves behind a legacy of selflessness, dedication, and love that touched the lives of many.

After attending high school, Joe bravely served his country in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict. His commitment and valor as a combat veteran were a testament to his strength and resilience.

On June 23, 1956, Joe married the love of his life, Donna Stoner, in Cedar Rapids. Together, they built a life filled with love and family. Joe dedicated 32 years of service to the United States Post Office as a devoted letter carrier. Even in retirement, he continued to work diligently, inspecting grain for the United States Department of Agriculture at Quaker Oats.

Joe's generosity and kindness extended far beyond his professional life. He often worked alongside his close friends in construction and was an active member of VFW Post #788, where he found camaraderie and community.

If anyone reading this invested in Old Style Light beer, you can thank Joe for the high production level they once had.

He will be remembered for his gentle demeanor, humility, and unwavering integrity. Joe cherished his family above all else, finding joy in being a father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. His selfless nature was evident in the way he prioritized the needs of others.
